Although it’s never been easier to find cannabis-infused liquors online, it’s always possible to make the green dragon at home in a pinch. Learn all about cannabis vodka in this article, classic cocktails to use it in, and how to make it at home.

What You Need to Know about Cannabis Vodka

You’ve probably seen plenty of cans and bottles of cannabis beverages in and around Canada by now. While we can appreciate the convenience these products off, there is just something special and indulging in an expertly prepared cocktail that features our favourite plant. In Canada, the law still prohibits the sale of products with weed and alcohol, so it will be a while before you can find a cannabis cocktail at your local bar. Of course, that still leaves cannabis connoisseurs open to experiment at home. After all, certain cocktails lend themselves to the added flavour and effect of cannabis-infused liquors, like vodka.

Classic Cocktails with an Herbal Twist

Although many cannabis consumers choose to forgo alcohol in exchange for the plant, there are some who enjoy both worlds. In fact, many cannabis cookbooks have their own cocktail section for these exact types of stoners. As the cannabis-infused dining experience continues to develop, cannabis mocktails and cocktails will become more prevalent. Here are a few of our favourites:

How to Make Cannabis Vodka at Home

Before you get ready to make your green dragon liquor or tincture, you’ve got to make sure your herb is ready. In order to make it bioavailable and apt for infusion, your leaf needs to be decarboxylated, which you can do by placing about ⅛ of an ounce in the oven and baking it at 240°F ( 115°C) for 30 minutes. Then, once it’s been heated up, finely grind your cannabis and start infusing. If you are choosing to go the Vodka route, place the decarbed flower in a 750 ml vodka bottle and shake. You can infuse the cannabis vodka for anywhere between two days to a month, depending on the strength you are looking for. Alternatively, you can also make a tincture or cannabis-infused simple syrup to add to your cocktails.

Time to Enjoy

Cheers, buds! It’s time to get mixing and enjoy an artfully prepared cannabis cocktail to ring in the summer season.
